New top story on Hacker News: Show HN: Magnitude – open-source AI browser automation framework

Show HN: Magnitude – open-source AI browser automation framework 14 by anerli | 6 comments on Hacker News. Hey HN, Anders and Tom here. We had a post about our AI test automation framework 2 months ago that got a decent amount of traction ( https://ift.tt/hMLZfm7 ). We got some great feedback from the community, with the most positive response being about our vision-first approach used in our browser agent. However, many wanted to use the underlying agent outside the testing domain. So today, we're releasing our fully featured AI browser automation framework. You can use it to automate tasks on the web, integrate between apps without APIs, extract data, test your web apps, or as a building block for your own browser agents. Traditionally, browser automation could only be done via the DOM, even though that’s not how humans use browsers. Most browser agents are still stuck in this paradigm. With a vision-first approach, we avoid relying on flaky DOM navigation and perform better o...

New top story on Hacker News: Show HN: OSAI-Browser – A P2P Browser for Web3 and HTML Games

Show HN: OSAI-Browser – A P2P Browser for Web3 and HTML Games 5 by EvoSync | 3 comments on Hacker News. https://ift.tt/Gx24FeL OSAI Browser is an peer-to-peer (P2P) browser currently in active development. My goal is to redefine how we interact with the web, focusing on decentralization and cutting-edge capabilities for web content. As a core future functionality, I envision distributed computing for high-quality web games and IoT applications, leveraging the P2P architecture to achieve impressive image fidelity and performance. Imagine games that harness the collective power of connected users, or IoT devices seamlessly interacting through a decentralized browser! Currently, the browser successfully allows users to drag-and-drop ZIP files directly to install and run web games. This demonstrates the practical application of its unique P2P distribution model. Crucially, both the server and client functionalities are already up and running, providing a robust foundation for the P2P ne...

New top story on Hacker News: Show HN: I wrote a new BitTorrent tracker in Elixir

Show HN: I wrote a new BitTorrent tracker in Elixir 7 by dahrkael | 0 comments on Hacker News. Hello everyone! I'm currently in a journey to learn and improve my Elixir and Go skills (my daily job uses C++) and looking through my backlog for projects to take on I decided Elixir is the perfect language to write a highly-parallel BitTorrent tracker. So I have spent my free time these last 3 months writing one! Now I think it has enough features to present it to the world (and a docker image to give it a quick try). I know some people see trackers as relics of the past now that DHT and PEX are common but I think they still serve a purpose in today's Internet (purely talking about public trackers). That said there is not a lot going on in terms of new developments since everyone just throws opentracker in a vps a calls it a day (honorable exceptions: aquatic and torrust). I plan to continue development for the foreseeable future and add some (optional) esoteric features along th...

New top story on Hacker News: Show HN: Tritium – The Legal IDE in Rust

Show HN: Tritium – The Legal IDE in Rust 32 by piker | 18 comments on Hacker News. $1,500 an hour and still using the software my grandma used to make bingo fliers!? Hi HN! I'd like to submit for your consideration Tritium ( https://tritium.legal ). Tritium aims to bring the power of the integrated development environment (IDE) to corporate lawyers. My name is Drew Miller, and I'm lawyer admitted to the New York bar. I have spent the last 13 years in and out of corporate transactional practice, while building side projects in various languages using vanilla Vim. One day at work, I was asked to implement a legal technology product at my firm. Of course the only product available for editing and running programs in a locked-down environment was VS Code and its friends like Puppeteer from Microsoft. I was really blown away at all of the capabilities of go-to definition and out-of-the box syntax highlighting as well as the debugger integration. I made the switch to a full IDE fo...
